I have decided, after seeing so many copycat devices released, that I wish the Motorola RAZR had never been invented.

I know, its harsh, but the release of the RAZR has taken all originality out of slim folder-style handset design. I saw lots of different RAZR-like devices at 3GSM this month, and I think it all accumulated after writing my snapshot of the Samsung SGH-Z510. That snapshot was actually much harsher in its first copy compared to what actually got published, as I can’t be overly rude on MobileBurn – I don’t have that restriction here.

I send this message to handset designers: burn all the RAZRs around you, and try, try, try to wipe the image of the little silver handset that could out of your head. I want to see some original designs, not crappy rip-offs.
