Obligatory Introduction
First things first, I should introduce myself. My name is Brad Kellett. I live in Australia and I am a journalist for a tech website that I do not wish to mention just yet (more on that in a future post, maybe…). In past times I worked as a Unix Systems Administrator for a large University, as well as a web designer before that, and a whole lot of other things outside of technology before that.
I call myself platform agnostic – that is I really have no allegiance to any computer platform/OS. My main system at home is a Windows XP box, my laptop is an iBook, my home file server runs FreeBSD, and I used to administrate Solaris systems. A bit computer ambidextrous I guess.
I am an absolute gadget fanatic. Though I follow a rule that I picked up off Chris Pirillo – get rid of a gadget before you get something new. It just saves the clutter that way.
So, that’s a short bit about me (you will pick up a lot more, if you stay around to read in the future), but what about the blog?
For a long time now, I have been reading other peoples writings and form my own opinions on the topics, as most people do. I want to use this blog as a way to express these opinions (as most blogs are). As well as this, I want to post my own writings on the world of technology, and hopefully generate some opinions of my own, and report on some of the issues going on in the world of technology.
Yes – its just another blog. But what makes this, and every other blog different from one another, is that you get the author (that’s me!), which brings along a personal style of writing and opinion. So if you like what you read, feel free to subscribe to the feed, post in the comments, and generally keep in touch.
Thanks for listening!
